The former french Minister of Culture becomes President of Eurimages

Catherine Trautmann, former Minister of Culture, becomes President of Eurimages European support fund for for co-production, distribution and exhibition.
She was appointed by the fund's management committee for a four-year term, effective January 1st 2017.
Succeeding the German Jobst Plog, she will be the first woman to occupy this position.
Catherine Trautmann was born in Strasbourg, where she was mayor for nine years. She was Minister of Culture from 1997 to 2000. She was a Member of the European Parliament for 18 years (1989-1997 and 2004-2014).
Created by the Council of Europe in 1988, the Eurimages Fund has an annual budget of € 24.6 million. Since its creation, it has supported 1810 European co-productions, for a total amount of approximately 540 million euros.
